Our Story
Chef Dino Ferraro's passion for cooking was inspired by his mother, who infused love and care into every meal she prepared. Although he initially studied to be a dentist, Dino's heart always belonged in his mother's kitchen. Against all odds, he courageously ventured into the culinary world, starting with the art of making pizza and exploring the rich landscape of classic Italian dishes while experimenting with exciting new flavors.
This journey ultimately led to the opening of Capone's Italian Cucina, where he began in a very small venue, cooking, serving, and bussing tables all on his own. Through hard work and dedication, he built a team that shares his vision, illustrating a beautiful story of growth and resilience. Now, after 35 remarkable years, Dino has meticulously refined his culinary creations and expanded his horizons with the addition of The Black Trumpet Bistro, where he continues to explore innovative cooking concepts.
Today, Dino is supported by a passionate group of individuals who believe in his dream, and together, they are thriving in the vibrant community of Huntington Beach, California. Their collective journey is a testament to the power of passion, perseverance, and the joy of bringing people together through food. Dino lives in Huntington Beach with his wife Lisa, and two sons Caleb and Joshua.
